When I first discovered Game Maker, very few tutorials with an educational focus existed.  It was through the work of Bill Kerr, Margaret Meijers and Tony Forster (independently) that finally, a body of easy-to-follow educational tutorials were written. 

This seems to be a common trend with Open Source and Freeware. Once educators find these gems, great, focused tutorials follow!</description>
