Adventure into a multi-day GenYES DigiTales Storytelling Camp! Guided by nationally acclaimed digital storyteller: Bernajean Porter! Leave with the skills to implement in the classroom!
What will I learn?
This unique artistic learning context is designed to immerse a GenYES partner-teacher/student team in a very personal experience of crafting digital stories using images, sound, memorabilia, voice, and graphics to create a 3-5 minute movie.
Who can come?
Storytelling Camp is limited to 8 teams consisting of a GenYES student and the partner-teacher who worked with the student to complete a GenYES project. GenYES teams from all grade levels and content areas are eligible to apply. Teachers and students must have had at least one semester of GenYES experience by the time of the workshop.
What do I do to get a place?
Complete the application packet and submit with all materials by Wednesday, October 10th. Be sure to fill out all the forms, and include a letter of recommendation from your site administrator. Selected applicants will be notified by Friday, October 19th.
Do I need special equipment?
The lab at Sacramento County Office of Education has PC’s that you can use. If you want to use a MAC, please bring your own computer loaded with the i-Life ’06 suite. Teams will receive a copy of Bernajean Porter’s DigiTales: the Art of Telling Digital Stories. PC users will work with Moviemaker. A complete list will be sent to participating teams.
This event is a collaborative effort of Bernajean Porter, Generation Yes, and CTAP Region 3, Sacramento County Office of Education.
